IBM Thinkpad T43 Entertainment Center

#1 Post by ABuNeNe » Thu Jun 06, 2013 6:56 am

Hi, I'm currently using my trusty T43 with 2GB of memory running on Win7 OS as a NAS server. It's connected to 2 x 2TB HDDs via a ExpressCard/54 eSATA card. File transfer on my giga network LAN is good.

I'm thinking of installing a Android OS and getting a docking station and connect it thru a DVI-to HDMI adapter to my LCD TV.

I want to run it 24 x 7 as a NAS server and also as a media player to watch movies, youtube, play emulators, ...

Any comment on this?

I'm thinking of changing the HDD to a SSD if this is possible.
current using t400 with p8400 2.26ghz processor, 8gb memory, 1288gb ssd, ... as a:
- media player (kodi)
- emulations (retropie)
- nas (2 x 4tb hdds connected to usb3.0 express card on gigabit lan)
