T42 Fan

#1 Post by vliou » Sun May 08, 2005 10:20 pm

Hello

Well, i've now read through everything that every user has to say on this forum regarding the annoying problem regarding the internal fans of the T-series. I have been trying to fix this prob since day 1, but it seems that nobody still has a solution to this. Am I wrong? I was just wondering if I actually missed the solution since there is SO much reg. this subj. on the forums.

Thanks.

No there isnt any solution. Different things work for different people. Although several people have said that downgrading the BIOS/EC firmware can help on the problem.

With that said i think alot of people are "complaining" aboutt he fan just running and not necesarily being noisy. And if it is just running quietly i dont see what the fuzz is about. These machines are getting faster and faster and they will need to be cooled. Just like a desktop machine which runs all the freaking time.
So unless it's noisy just forget about it and be happy with the machine.

I myself have heard alot about this issue and it stopped me from considering the T43 series(untill i ordered three of them that is), but after seeing several machines in real life - All them had a running fan but it was so super quiet that we had to close the door to the office and be bsolutely silent to hear it - And if thats the case then who cares about it.

I believe quite a number of people have a very silent machine with the fan running, but some of them are just obsessed with having the fan not run at all.

But thats just my opinion.
