Upgrading my LCD-Display

#1 Post by gopher » Mon May 09, 2005 1:31 am

Is it possible to upgrade my 14" XGA screen to a 14" SXGA or SXGA+ one? I already checked the IBM-Page (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=237342G) but couldn't find anything regarding the screen ;( Is there some other place to buy those parts?

And it won't work, because the BIOS of the GPU is set to the LCD resolution. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That's too bad, the only systems with a SXGA+ screen are the new T43s and some old T42 ones, with loads of crap that I don't need and I'll never use, but I still have to pay for (PCIe, Sonoma, > 1.5 Ghz CPUs, Fire GL2 GPU etc).

That's not true - you can get a T23 with the SXGA+ screen.

Right, I should have been more specific ;)

I was talking about T4x models that are actually available over here in germany.
