T30 battery in T22?

Is this possible? I thought I read in one of the posts that I am now unable to find that the two batteries can be swapped into each other. If that is the case, does the T30 battery have a greater capacity and is it a good idea to get one of them?

It will fit. The bumps on the bottom are a little different but is the same where it matters. The T30 battery has more capacity and will last longer.
If you want one, get one. It won't look right but it will function correctly.

Thanks. Now I'm wondering how much it matters if the battery is IBM or a good generic replacement Will the battery management software recognize non-OEM batteries?

I have heard that the latest BIOS for some T4x models (not sure about T23) will not recognize a non-IBM battery. I have the latest BIOS on my T23 but all my batteries are IBM.

I'm using a T30 battery on my T22, I don't notice any mismatch (of course, the battery's on the bottom)

T30 batteries fit the T2x series laptops. HOWEVER the battery specifically built for the T2x laptop will NOT fit in a T30. There is a subtle shape difference ("cut out") that prevents a T2x battery from fitting in a T30.

We found this out because we had a stack of NIB T20 batteries we can't use in T30's. BTW, I think the T30 battery has a higher capacity than the old T2x batteries so it's a win to use a T30 battery in a T2x laptop.
