Would you buy the T50 motherboard at it's current price?

YES! I'll pay the full price(~$135) and International shipping costs.

Only realistic chance of us being able to order some is if they make a second batch with larger quantity. I hope they do this as I'd love to get my hands on 1.

Great news! The first T50 has arrived in the USA; a review is forthcoming... see US-based (preferably CA) reviewer of brand-new T50 sought!

Stay tuned!! :D

Hello everyone. I recently acquired a very mint T40, and much to my surprise the T50 board has been released. Is there any possibility of getting one this late in the game? I am willing to pay full price. Thanks!

Heres a picture of my new T40, very pleased with it so far. :D

Quite a nice T40, would be a worthy host to a T50 board. But the boards haven't been released internationally yet... the only publicized sale thus far was a small one for prototypes to the home forum(51nb)'s members.

I'm in Cali too, and I'm waiting for a board. I suppose you and me will be in the same boat when we finally get one. :)
Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...

Well I'll keep my eye out. If you happen to get an insider deal be sure to grab a few extra! Ill gladly pay for the shipping, board, and a little extra for your troubles. Ill do the same if I come into contact with one.

My collection is growing rapidly. Bought a T61 today. http://imgur.com/uHTIe8x

Hopefully a aftermarket board is released for T6x soon as well! x)

I'm only a few days into being a part of the ThinkPad community but its been a good few.

(Ill keep discussion in this thread about the T50 after this post, thought id share my new acquisition though!)

I don't really need a review; I just want to buy two or three. I already know what the thing does... I just want to be able to do it.

I am disappointed that we haven't been able to get our hands on the T50 but we are still hopeful. Although if we are realistic it looks further away now than ever before.

I still love and use my T43's and the magic of the T43 is that this is still possible for general use. To go with my T42 and my T400 I have purchased a X201s which will now be my travelling buddy. :)
I feel the X201s is still in the Thinkpad tradition but I fear this tradition is fading. :(

With that sombre thought I would still buy a T50 despite the " T50 is like a box of chocolates" in reality despite valiant efforts from our Chinese cousins.

Not surprise or disappointed as I had no expectations of ever getting one. Still held out a very faint hope though. Very very limited production by a group of enthusiasts for local consumption. Only way any of us get a chance at anything like this is if one of the big MB OEM decide to run with it.

Just wanted to tag onto this post and say that I am still interested. In the meantime, I am running Linux - Mint version, on my Thinkpad and it is going very well. This thing is a like a 'brick cell phone'. Have been tossing around for the last year while traveling and it never fails. Was given to me by a customer as a swap for a bill, with case, docking station, extra power cords, etc.. Brought my other laptop on the road and this one as a backup. First 'toss around' of the other one made it fail. This Thinkpad 'takes a licking and keeps on ticking'. :D
Take Care, Sharon
