Nostalgia for the good old days
Nostalgia for the good old days
I just want to take a minute to reminisce about my good old days. I used to have a T43 back in grad school (2007ish). I was dating an undergrad (ex-girlfriend now) and we used to study together in the old library and we used to sit by the windows. In the winter, I remember reading drudgereport on my T43 while she was cramming her chemistry stuff. We always used to stay late and when it got cold, I remember how much comfort I found cupping my hands over the "heating vent" is what I used to call it (the cpu fan exhaust) to warm up while reading the news on my T43. I missed those huge old heating vents on the older ThinkPads Anyone else feel the same way?
Now I'm married to a different women and I have 2 toddlers and a T440s. The fan almost never turns on and I can hardly ever get time to read news by the cold windows anymore (and I'd rather read the NYT or WashPost now).

In the "real ol' days" we used a 770x to warm our knees - still got the burn marks to show!!!

Re: Nostalgia for the good old days
I like your story, I do have some nice memories about that time, too. Thanks to TP Fan Control I can warm my T440s at least a bit up to 48 celsius.
