Thinkpad T43 LCD display Brightness!

Hello,

My superb Thinkpad T43 has worked amazingly all this time (>10yrs) I have it in my possession without major problems....

Yet the LCD display is not as BRIGHT as other modern laptops....Thus I would like to know if
I should replace a lamp or the inverter card or something else...

Replacing the lamp should help some at least. Inverter shouldn't make any diff.

Note: Lamp replacement is not bad on 15" models but the 14" are a PITA apparently.
