i was wondering if anyone could help me out with this--
Sometimes I like to leave my laptop connected to the internet while the laptop is closed, and I'm away doing something else not laptop-related. I like to do this in case I'm downloading something or don't want to miss messages on AIM, for example.
But when I close the laptop, it goes into standby mode, correct? And once it does so, it instantly closes my internet connection.
Is there any healthy way for me to accomplish what I want to do -- keep my laptop connected to the internet while it is closed?
ps i have a t42
close laptop and stay connected to the internet -- how?

left click the battery maxmiser icon and select battery maxmiser wizard
1st screen click next then on the next screen 1st option
when I close the display lid, the computer will... drop down menu and select do nothing.
If you do not use the battery maxmiser program. Go to the control panel, select performance and maintanence, then power options, then the advanced tab, then when i close the lid on my portable computer drop down select do nothing.
