scusyxx and chbone does that panasonic batt fit perfectly? is it loose? if you shake the battery, would it make noises like is a bit loose? what about when walking around and carring the laptop under your arm, any shaky noise?

dont get me wrong im just curious about other batteries fitting dimensions and capacities.

you think the sanyo is the preferred one for t43 s?

thanks.

What is a 51.84 wH battery? I though batteries were rated in aH (amp-hrs), and the battery for the T43 is approximately 5.9 aH.

My battery is a Sanyo 51.84 Wh, 10.8V. The battery says "4.8AH" which I guess means "amp hours". W = V * A so it all makes sense.

Power manager says full charge is 53.36 Wh.

dude please! how is that possible? how could a sanyo batt design for 51.84wh be reported in power manager as to have a full charge of 53.36wh, what??? it recharges more than what is designed for!

double check on that man.

I got the same with a 9 cell batt. Its designed for 71 something but it charges 73 something but that s possible. Batteries can easily be overchraged today - Actually just about any battery you charge has more charge put into it than the designd spec.

then, my next question is, wouldnt overcharging a batt shorter its lifespan?

That is only the capacity difference. As fas as I know, there is no over charging issue.

Battery Charge

#16 Post by jd2020 » Wed May 25, 2005 6:42 pm

Scorpiontico,
Yes, that was what the battery manager reported on my T43's 5th day in service, dude. Now, after running for another week, and running hard drive tests for the last 18 hrs I see 49.28 Wh as both Remaining capacity and Full charge capacity.

Don't blame me -- blame the IBM Power Manager. All I have to do is read, and I know how to do that.
