T42 Shows connected but no Internet access

I use a Linksys router (G BAND). I just got a used Netgear N router and tried to hook it up. It worked for my main pc that is wired but I could not get Wireless access. So I replugged in the old Linksys and now my laptops show connected to my network but no internet access. It shows Excellent signal strength and is sending/receiving bytes of data on the properties screen. I have reset the modem and the router multiple times. What could I have done wrong? TIA
