Crashed!!!!!!!!!!

So I've had this T40 for a few days, and it has been great until this morning. I started it up and logged into the Admin screen which was loading normally. As it loaded, I foolishly (from a retrospective bit of insight) plugged an external Zip drive to the upper USB port. The machine immediately went dead, and I do mean dead!!! It was on battery. When I left home the battery was about 75% charged. The power switch is not responding. I thought that perhaps the battery had for some reason discharged in the half hour from home to work (I know, not very likely), so I plugged in the power cord and no response. How can I reboot or get the thing back up? I know this sound pretty stupid, but I'm a Mac person taking a dalliance on the Dark side, and I'm used to things working with little complaint.

Is the screen showing anything? Try holding the power button for 10 seconds and see if it shuts off.

You may need to remove all power sources and then start it up again.

For what it's worth I've had similar things happen on Macs with firewire film scanners. Can't have everything work right all the time!

Nothing is showing on the screen. I'll pull the battery and see what happens.
