T43 problem - boot - black screen

Hi I just bought a T43 and have problem with boot
After I press a power fan start all lights light up for a while, can hear dvd work but black screen.
It is stay wit battery and power lights up and after about 2 min can hear beeps 1 long and 2 short.
Any ideas where to look for a fault?

You probably have a failing Southbridge chip due to too much flexing of the motherboard.
Do a Search on the forum with t43 southbridge, hundreds of posts about this.

What motherboard would you recommend as a replacement?

I bought four years ago my Thinkpad T43. I hit him by my desk and IBM stops work few days later. I bought motherboard from R52 with the same dedicated graphics card ATI X300. The only difference is between dedicated quantity graphics memory. Originally had 64MB and now have 128MB.

If you want you can replace your faulty board with integrated intel graphics board.
there are no problems.
