DON'T BE FOOLED BY IMMITATION RAM SOLD ON EBAY. THERE ARE ONLY 3 MANUFACTURED MODULES CONSISTENTLY APPROVED BY THE LARGE MANUFACTURERS OF LAPTOPS SUCH AS DELL, IBM, APPLE, TOSHIBA, ETC. THAT IS SAMSUNG, MICRON, AND INFINEON. WHEN YOU BUY OTHER THAN FACTORY MODULES YOU TRULY DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR BOARDS CHIPS ARE MADE. IT COULD BE TAIWAN, CHINA, OR OTHER PLACES WHERE THE QUALITY IS SUSPECT.
Well... I have checked Micron's website, and found that there is no DDR2 SDRAM available in Micron's website. But certainly Crucial, a Micron subcompany I believe, has all size of the DDR2 SDRAM. I didn't check Samsung's and Infineon's website, so didn't know about their products. I know that IBM also use ELPIDA's RAM, but ELPIDA's RAM is not in the list...
By the way, I am from Taiwan, and I think some (but not all) RAMs made in Taiwan should be in good quality as well. So... I can not agree with the last two lines of the post
So... Any idea about which brand of DDR2 SDRAM I should get?
