Broken USB port

I recently bought a T40 off eBay. Yesterday, I realized one of the USB ports is broken. The central plastic tongue is gone making the port non-functional. How complex is it to replace a USB port.

I believe the usb port is connected to the main board you would need to replace the whole motherboard

this happened to me after having read about it, so i'm certain it's a weakness of the design ... new systemboard installation via overnight mail is in your future
