French Keyboard

#1 Post by ian » Sat Jun 19, 2004 12:37 am

I'm about to order a keyboard for my (not yet arrived !) T42 and I'm more than confused as to the denominations shown on this page

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-46503

As I have ordered a 15" model, what exactly does 'NMB' or 'ALPS' refer to? Can't find it in the UNO workshop manual at all...

NMB and ALPS are manufacturers. After a little digging on the IBM site, I found this on the T20's keyboard FRU list site: "NMB and ALPS both manufacture keyboards for the ThinkPad T20 Series. The actual keyboards are identical." However, it looks as though only NMB keyboards are available, since the ALPS keyboard's FRU isn't recognized on the Maintenance Retail Parts Site.

What's up with the tricky window? Is it working now?

Regards,
G-Man

Thanks G-man I knew I could rely on you !

Yes VW France fixed (AND picked up the tab...) my window yesterday - spent half an hour gaily opening and closing it - haven't bust it yet !

I am fairly sure I'll get the keyboard before Bill lets go of my 2373-CWU !! At least I'll have something to play with (should relieve pressure on the window switch in my car...)
