UltraBay Battery + Wireless - No association?
So I recently popped one of these nifty UltraBay slim batteries into my t41.
Worked fine, charging nicely... and then all of a sudden, my wireless network goes down. I can still see all the access points around, but the card fails to
associate with any of them. This problem persists through a reboot or 5. (windows, linux)
Pop out the battery, let the computer cool down, and on the next boot it's fine.
Anyone else seen this problem? I'd love to use this battery, but not at the expense of wireless.
thanks,
ben

UltrabY SLIM battery wireless probem.
I just had a similar problem.
Lost connection either while working, or after suspending. I rebooted. No change. Did IPCONFIG ALL, all looks OK. Was associated with the access point, and had an IP address, but could not connect to the internet. I reset my router, no change. Took out utrabay battery, and reboted, and all was solved.
Can anyone shed any ligt on this?

Lost of your wireless has nothing to do with your battery.Ben_Osheroff wrote:So I recently popped one of these nifty UltraBay slim batteries into my t41.

I had the same or similar issue.
It seems that removing the battery and then reinstalling and rebooting solved the problem... so the Battery DOES seem to have some impact on connectivity here.
I find it interesting that I still was able to associate, and also to get an IP address. I am not sure that this would have been limited to wireless. (I did not try a wired connection)

I think if you rebooted without doing anything with the battery you would get the same result. Several here are having wireless problemsjsmit86 wrote:Greg -

Nope, I did the reboot a few times with no luck.
It definitely had some interaction with the ultrabay battery.
After removing the battery and rebooting, the connection was back.
I should add, I have had this PC for a few months, and this particular problem has not happened before. (I just started using the ultrabay battery today)

Well, I hope someone can help you hear. I do not understand how having the extra battery can effect your wireless.jsmit86 wrote:Nope, I did the reboot a few times with no luck.
