Is there a differance if lets say someone used two 512MB modules instead of 1GB x 1?
Just wondering (Soon to be a T43p owner here!)
The reason I ask is that most modern desktop computers support dual channeling... Plus google isn't helpful on this
Dual channeling?
if you buy a 1gb ram stick you can later max you system out to 2gb. with two 512s if you ever want to upgrade your gonna have to take out one of the DIMM and replace it with another high capacity one. Performance wise, the new Centrino technology does support dual channel DDR, but ive read that it really doesn't provide much benefit due to the slow FSB of the centrinos. Check out Tom's Hardware

But yes, from what i know from desktops, both dimms have to be the same size for dual channel. so 2x512.... or better yet 2x1gb
