Last night I tried to replace the palmrest (w/o touchpad) on my T43p, and found that it's very hard to remove the screws. I have tried this on a T42p before, and didn't have same problem. The problem is that the keyboard seems to be so soft that I can not use "brutal" force to take the screws out. Once you exert some force direct to the screws, it will sink a little bit (looks like a little bit elastic) and hence there is no effect at all. Same thing happens to the heat sinker: I can not move the screws out of the heat sinker...
My problem is: do I need special tools to remove the screws out of a T4x? I don't think you really need one because I also did the same thing to T42p and there is no problem at all. Any ideas?
One interesting thing is that the part number of the Thai keyboard on T43p is different from the Thai keyboard on T42p. So I guess there are some differences b/w these two Thai keyboards so that it's very hard to remove the screws from the new keyboard.
Terrible experience...
No special tools are required. But consult the hardware maintenance and service manual for the correct procedure. Some screws do not need to be removed at all.
