Can you buy/search for specific model from IBM directly?

Although IBM only puts out a certain amount/models of Thinkpads out, is it possible to search on there site manually for a specific model and purchase that model?

For example I'd like to look at the G2U which is not presented explicitly... is there anyway I can still buy it online or do I just have to wait until they offer it?

you can buy either directly from lenovo as long as you know the model number,
or
