Once you get your t43p, what are your first manipulations ?

Hello everybody,
I'm about to receive the laptop mentionned in my signature and i'd like to know what kind of "tweaking/tuning" are people making on their new machine in general but especially on their t43p. I've read through a lot of posts many things about :
  • - recovery CD/DVD (that can be ordered with no fee if you specify you're changing your hdd).
    - update the BIOS and so on to avoid the "fan issues"
    - downvolt the CPU and make your laptop almost fanless.
    - perhaps reinstall windows and download separetaly the drivers/utilities
    - Personnally i'm also planning to replace the 7k60 with a Toshiba (100GB 5400rpm 16mb cache) in order to be able ton install 2 OS and have enough place to store a lot of media file ;-)
I know every people would require different environment, but i'd like to know if there are some tricks, registry modifications (geeks ones are also welcome) especially useful on thinkpads.
Thank you in advance
Have a nice day

- Create yourself the recovery CD/DVD (boot cd and data dvd)
-The Bios update does NOT solve the fan issue for the t43 (P)
-For my T43 Centrino H. did not reduce the fan noise
-In my view it is useless to reinstall windows

Create an additional data partition D, let the (latest) software installer search for new IBM software, install the latest windows updates - and your done.
