T42p LCD model

#1 Post by Lka1988 » Sun Oct 12, 2014 10:28 pm

EDIT: Found the model number. ID Tech, model N150U3-L01.

Hey all. My poor T42p's GPU finally took a dive for the last time. I tried reflowing, but to no avail. I melted the mobo. Oops.

Anyway, since I have an abundance of machines at home and work, I've ultimately decided that I don't really need the old IBM, so I'm going to try to recycle some parts out of it. Namely, the LCD. I realize that it's old and still uses CFL lighting, but it's a nice screen. Only problem is that I can't find the model/manufacturer anywhere on it.

Anyone know who made these screens?

What's the full 7-character model number of that T42p? 237*-???

If it's a 15" unit, the LCD was made by ID Tech. There were several manufacturers for 14" LCDs.

That's what I was afraid of. Crap. I'll have to post when I get back to the office on Thursday. The laptop is sitting on my desk in pieces.

Edit: I'm pretty sure it's a 15" LCD, but what model? If it's an ID Tech unit, that is?

Hate to say this, but there is no 3-digit number after the 2373 anywhere on the casing. That's all I can find. Definitely a 15-incher.

EDIT: I found the model number. N150U3-L01. Herp-derp...

There should be a rectangular sticker on the bottom showing the production date in the YY/MM format, serial number *and* the full 7-character model number, such as 2373-HVU or something along those lines...

Yep, that's the ID Tech (now Chi Mei) UXGA LCD found in T4xp/R50p series, specs here: http://www.panelook.com/N150U3-L01_Inno ... _2083.html
