Differences in keyboard layout?

#1 Post by NathanA » Wed May 25, 2005 1:20 pm

Hey guys,

Anyone know what the difference is between a "U.S. English" keyboard for the T4x and a "U.S. English (International)" keyboard?

I also find it interesting that the "International" version of the U.S. keyboard is the only one (according to the HMM) that is NOT made by Alps (only NMB or Chicony versions available). What's the story on this?

Thanks,

-- Nathan

Steve007,

Thanks for the link, though I'm afraid that information only confused me more. ;)

There are three "English" keyboard types that are being made for the T4x series: English U.K., English U.S., and English U.S. (International). That page that you linked to on IBM's site shows *four* English keyboard types: one for Canada, *two* for U.K./Ireland/H.K. (?!?), and one for U.S.

Furthermore, there seems to be no information on either that site or in the HMM explaining which keyboard FRU corresponds to which keyboard type on the globalization site that you linked to.

So, I'm still lost. :(

Thanks,

-- Nathan
