I need some quick advice: 23739XU for $1500
I need some quick advice: 23739XU for $1500
Ok, I just came about an opportunity to pick up a local T42 23739XU which is new (less than 1 week) for $1500.
Here are the specs:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ry=23739XU
I've checked and this system retails at about $2000, but I also looked at the tabook, and it seems this model is being discontinued.
Also, I forgot to mention that this laptop includes 3 Year OnSite.
I need to act quick. Could you guys give me some advice? Any problems with this model that I should be aware of?
Thanks.

Really? I am staying away from eBay after a bad experience, so that's not an option.revolutionary_one wrote:You should be able to get that thing for about 1400...
Also, I forgot to mention that the laptop I'm talking about includes a 3 year OnSite service contract.
I need to decide soon...

I am dropping by tomorrow morning to take a look at this laptop. The owner says that the 1400x1050 screen is too tiny for his old eyes, and that's why he is selling it.
Thanks for your votes so far, but this isn't making things easy...votes are evenly split among the 3 possible categories
Let me put it like this: Why would I want to get a T43 instead of a T42?
By the way, I will be using this lappy mostly for Photoshop and After Effects work, maybe some gaming too.

Actually...I did!Steve007 wrote: Not sure why you posted this. Go pick that machine up. Now!!!
I couldn't help myself after looking at it. The computer looks like it just came out of the box (no surprise there), and I am loving it.
I will post more information later, because I need to get back to business.
Thanks for that nudge in the right direction Steve. However, I don't think I would have resisted the T42's charms even if everyone in the board had told me it was a bad idea to not do so.
