T43 recovery disks in T41/T42

Is it possible to use the recovery disks generated from a 14" T43p in older but similar 14" T41s or T42s? Or if I remove the HDD from the T43p, will it work in the T41s/T42s?

Different HAL on T43 media hence not recommended.

As for the HDD pull, it may work or it may bluescreen. I've had both happen.

If you need T41/42 media let me know and I'll burn you a set.

Thanks George and apologies for the very late reply. I had to scoot off to the west coast for some urgent work.

I was able to install XP from an original DVD and download the drivers off Lenovo's site, so I've got it covered.
