Yes I have to agree. I bought a Lenovo branded T61 for my nephew about a year ago and while I was setting that machine up it felt very nice all the way. Then a friend of mine asked to switch the OS for his daughter's lower spec X61. And that felt like a very nice machine as well. That's true. But if it was entirely up to me then I wouldn't install either XP or 7. But I need some software which has been rewritten for this year in such a way that Wine can't work with it in Linux. Depending on which FRU you get, the T4x keyboards are identical in feel / quality to the TransNote and subsequently T6x series (in this case the NMB variants-- which all use the same switch and general design). Just out of curiosity, how does the pledge cleaner keep the rubber coating safe? I assume you add it on in thick layers. In my experience the Pledge wood cleaner keeps the rubber from drying out, and by doing this I believe it may also prevent the rubber from crumbling and separating from the lid. Kind of like an Armor-All solution. I also notice that very minor scuffs in the rubber disappear with the Pledge. I know this is an old topic, but since I was cleaning my T40 I thought I would provide you with a few pictures.
