T43 palmrest and touchpad

#1 Post by Padraic » Wed Apr 15, 2015 8:51 pm

Hi everyone, I'm a happy user of a T43 and may touch-pad has stopped working properly so I have it disabled. There is also a crack on the palm-rest.
Can these items still be purchased new? I'd prefer to replace them with new one if possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Padraic.

Is your system a 14" or a 15" unit?

I've recently purchased some NOS 15" T4x palmrests with FPR, but they were not inexpensive in the least...

Hi, its a 14" unit, I love this machine so I want to keep everything working as it should.

Good luck.

Are these parts not available new from IBM/Lenovo anymore? if that's the case I may have to buy second hand.

No they're not.

You need NOS (New Old Stock). I've gotten a brand new T4x 15" lid - still in the original IBM box from this member's listing:

Check with Chris to see whether he might have what you're looking for.

Good luck.

I have a brand new IBM T43 Keyboard for the 14" Thinkpad. It's been sitting under the lid of my T43p for the past 7 years untouched after the death of my thinkpad. It's been a glorified bookend in my closet ever since. The rest of the T43 stuff will probably be salvaged parts from legacy T43's used for parts.
