I'm trying to underclock my radeon 7500 as much as psosible. What's the lowest core and memory mhz?

Running the laptop on battery with powerplay on will give you an idea the recommended clock rates. You can also use utilities like RadLinker to see how low you can go.

I've played with all the settings, but anything I tried resulted in instability. The system would either hang, bluescreen, or reboot. The Mobility Radeon 7500 just doesn't seem to like non-default settings :(
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!

Well, I sort of have to go ahead and disagree with you... my 7500 really like non-default settings. The core will run as low as 140Mhz, below that the computer just hangs. And it will go as high as 430MHz, above that it produces some minor pixel errors when displaying images. If you play 3D intensive games I guess the 430MHz setting might cause the GPU to overheat, but it works lika a charm in windows, although the fan will never cut out... but hey, it never does that anyway

As for the memory I dont think it creates a lot of heat so I would just leave it at its default, but you can always experiment for yourself :)

BTW, i use the Omega Radeon Driver. Its very easy to use for over/underclocking.
Thinkpad T40 2373-19U, winXP pro. Added: 256MB RAM, Samsung 80GB HDD. Switched mini-PCI wlan module intel 2100 802.11b to Intel 2915 ABG, with 1802 hack :)
