ThinkPad T43 A62 type 1871 Crisi Bios Recovery
ThinkPad T43 A62 type 1871 Crisi Bios Recovery
I've made a big mistake on updating BIOS and now my old ThinkPad is bricked. Tried this procedure http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=100075 but the USB floppy doesn't boot.
The problem is only how to "turn on" the USB floppy
Do I've another chance?
Thanks in advance Grazia

Have you tried if that floppy-drive boots from another laptop?
That drive may be faulty...

Have you set the BOOT sequence in BIOS to boot from USB FDD first?
Re: ThinkPad T43 A62 type 1871 Crisi Bios Recovery
as I wrote the ThinkPad is bricked because of wrong BIOS upgrade

Maybe as a last resort: try to do another update with the regular BIOS, using a bootable CD.
What was the mistake you made that caused bricking it?

One last thing that I'd try:
Remove the hard and media drives, connect the FDD and try to boot from it. If that doesn't work you'll likely need to replace the board.
Good luck.
