Please tell me this is NOT typical of IBM Service!
brewt...
Sorry for being so harse. I've been trying to resolve this with tech support for a while. 3 separate tickets... 1 they just decided to cancel because I didn't call back while I was on a business trip for 2 days!
In any case, this problem is not difficult to find or display. If a machine displays this than it's either a messed up machine or its simply a design problem. It may be that ATI 9000/32meg card just can't handle SXGA displays... in which case, this is a design problem that IBM should fix.
Take a look at my recent post, run the test, and see what you see. If the menu area looks like it's in 16bit color mode, then you're seeing the same thing I'm seeing. If your menu is clear, then I would say something is up with my machine.
Here's the post... http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=77190#77190
Please reply to it if you can... it's a really easy test to do.
Thanks,
makai

i'm having a difficult time with lenovo. i emailed my cust. rep (EPP) many times and she has not gotten back to me, or it takes her 1-2 days to give me a one line email. i've called her and she hasn't caled me back.
my order keeps getting pushed back a day each day that goes by. i finally called another cust. rep. and it turns out my t42p has been ready to ship for over a week- but the thing that's holding it up is my warranty... which seems to be "out of stock". he even laughed since it's just a piece of paper that has to go in the box. my cust. rep. didn't check up on this at all- i could've had my thinkpad by now!
sigh, i hope things get straightened out.

Sorry to hear about this. Good luck and I hope you get your thinkpad soon! Man, why are things so difficult sometimes!??? I just don't understand!

Did you order your Thinkpad completely thru the EPP website? Or, did you call the customer service rep & allow them to place the entire order?xcoldricex wrote:i'm having a difficult time with lenovo. i emailed my cust. rep (EPP) many times and she has not gotten back to me, or it takes her 1-2 days to give me a one line email. i've called her and she hasn't caled me back.

I wonder if all these cockups & delays are the result of lazy lenovo reps not completing the order? If that were the case, it could explain why some orders appear "lost in space".
For those of you who have placed 100% of your order thru the EPP website & NOT talked to a CS rep, did your order experience anything strange, like the warranty not being instock?
LOL, sorry, that's just too funny! That's almost as bad as lenovo not being able to ship thinkpads because they ran outta packing tape

my order for a t42p placed on 6/6 went from 6/16 to 6/22 to 7/7. my stupid customer service rep will NOT call me back or reply to my emails. other customer service reps say its a problem with my warranty (which is just a piece of paper, its out of stock which is holding up my computer) and that ONLY SHE can call the warehouse and fix it. i called on monday and they said it should get finished that day, i called today and its STILL unfinished but they said the EST is probably inaccurate as they are having problems with their shipping software... but she still has not returned my call and she's out of the office tomorrow.
what kind of customer service is this?!?
i ordered it on the phone talking to said customer service rep.
