t42 "weight saver"?

#1 Post by nypl » Thu Jun 09, 2005 7:00 pm

In order to save weight, I would like to leave home my battery and cd-rom drive. I guess I can do so without problem, just leave them out. I am wondeirng, though, whether there exists a "bezel" or a "weight saver" to slide into the cd-rom-drive-slot -- to prevent dust from getting in etc. I believe Fujitsu offers a such a "weight saver" for the Lifebook S-7010.
Thanks for any hints or comments,
Axel

I'd suggest picking up one of the Ultrabay HDD cages if you can't find a slot cover. Seems to me you'd at least want to take a 6-cell battery with you though.

Usually I will want the battery, but there are days when even the battery seems to heavy ... and I've got a second ac adaptor at work. As regards the slot cover, that seems to be what I am looking for -- so far without success. You are probably right in that I should not leave the slot uncovered.
