HELP !!! Cannot Disable wireless adapter

#1 Post by neosys911 » Fri Jun 10, 2005 1:38 pm

Hi all,

My wireless works seamlessly and my only problem is that I cannot repair the connection or disable the wireless conxn at any time.I used to e able to do this before, but now-a-days,each time I right click on the wireless icon on the taskbar and say either repair or disable , I get this msg.

"It is not possible to disable at this time , this conxn may be using one or more protocols using plug and play, or it may have been initiated by another user or system account."

I'm not using access connections , I have tried manual restarts , and each time,my wireless works fine but I just can get it disabled.

Can anyone help ? Thanks very much.

Mike

Ctrl+Alt+Del and look at the running processes to see if you can figure out what is using it.

Right click "My Computer" on the desktop, then "properties", "hardware", "device manager", expand "network adapters", find it there, open that, and disable it at the bottom.

You can also go to My Network Places (desktop, again), "network places", and disable it there, or through start/settings/control panel.
