T42 Internal resolution and Dock resolution auto switch?

#1 Post by thenew3 » Mon Jun 21, 2004 1:52 pm

Anyone know how to have the machine switch resolutions automatically when it is docked or undocked?

I would like it to run the native 1400x1050 while on the internal panel (undocked) and switch to 1280x1024 when docked and hooked up to an external LCD. Is there any way to do this rather then go into the display settings everytime I dock/undock to change the resolution?

Thanks

Use the IBM presentation manager, install profiles and it will work, mark DVI only until 1280er resolution.

Maybe you all can help me with the problem I'm having.

I have a mini-dock and a T40. I have the normal display settings and have set up one called "Docked" for when its in the mini-dock. That one has a resolution of 1600x1200 75hz with the LCD disabled. I have that set as the profile when docked. When I shut the computer down or hibernate and dock/undock,it switches displays just fine. If I hot dock/undock or suspend, it does not change the resolution, but puts it on the other display (i.e 1400x1500 on the CRT and 1600x1200 on the LCD).

I would like to get this to work with hot dock/undock and suspend. DO any of you have any ideas?

Also I noticed that a docked hardware profile isn't created. Is this normal?

My last question is if there are any drivers I'm supposed to use for the mini-dock.

thanks,

-eric
