t-42 and tv out

#1 Post by iamtree » Sat Jun 11, 2005 11:09 pm

I have read all the topics here about getting tv out to work on T-42 with radeon 9600 cards. I am trying to get my video to play on both the T'42 screen and TV at the same time. Is this possible? astpaul wrote in 2004 his solution

I just attached a TV to my T42 through the SVHS port. I declared it as a secondary analog monitor through the presentation app in two configs:
1/ one as extended desktop
2/ the other one as duplicating the LCD screen

I use Media Player Classic.
Usually i choose the 1st setup and just open a movie with it and put on the TV screen. I maximise it and it works fine.

Using presentation director it only allows me to select the s-video option in my configuration when creating a scheme (because it doesn't detect an analog monitor with a vga connection).

So I can watch the video I am playing with media player 10 on the TV, but can't watch it at the same time on my laptop (and vive versa). Is there a way to watch both the movie on the T-42 screen and on the tv at the same time and also to get the movie to fill the whole screen of the T-42?

I think I have tried everything I read that others have tried, including configuring it as an extended display (when I do that I can't see the media player on the T-42 until I move it off the desktop.)
One other thing, is there a way to edit the default destop scheme in presentation director, so I don't keep losing my wallpaer everytime I change schemes?

Thanks

Have you tried BSplayer in RGB Overlay mode?

Thanks for the suggestion to try BS Player. I tried it am able to view videos on both the tv and on the laptop at the same time now. I tried the RGB Overlay mode (mode 2 I believe) and that didn't work, but without tinkering with the default settings, BS Player works. I still have the problem on the laptop where I cannot fill the whole screen with the video...when I use presentation monitor and change to my tv viewing scheme, the program changes the size of the desktop on the T-42 monitor to a small box. Do you know if this can be changed?

I played with presentation redirector a long time ago. I also encountered some full screen issues, don't remember all the details though. I ended up manually change the Advanced display settings (the one with lots of ATI tabs).
