FireGL V3200 Update

My new T43p works fine with all the features. I have used IBM's new Installer Program to update the system. Additional checking with MS Hardware Updates reports a new V3200 Date 9.3.2005 is still available for download. Currently I have version 6.14.10.6.6497. I have not yet downloaded from MS Windows Update and not sure what driver would be downloaded. Any idea?

The latest drivers that IBM supports can be found in the driver matrix for your laptop by using ThinkVantage Software Installer while online. That's not to say that other drivers will not work, but they may give unexpected results. IBM recommends using only their drivers for the hardware that is installed in the laptop as it comes from the factory.

I and others have had problems using Microsoft Update to update hardware drivers except for basic equipment such as mice. You can try the hardware updates that MS provides for your laptop, and probably roll them back if you run into problems - but IMHO I'd stay away unless you are the adventurous sort (but hey, some of us are).

I had the opposite result for the FireGL T2 in my T42p. The ATI and IBM drivers would crash when I played certain games, but the Microsoft Windows Update driver (which is newer version and date that IBM Software Installer) works like a charm.
