Multiburner supports DVD-RAM?

#1 Post by Navck » Mon Jun 13, 2005 7:40 pm

DVD-RAM = The DVD type that actually works like a REMOVABLE harddrive...
When I went into explorer, I noticed my drive was identified as a DVD-RAM drive...
I have a 2687DDU for my model... Its just that DVD-Ram is a VERY useful medium to me, however expensive. So I would like to know if it would work on my TP before trying it

Yes. It works beautifully on my T42. I can drag and drop files to it like a big floppy disc.

The dvd-ram drive was one of the decisive factors I chose a T42 over a Sony S.

Well IBM really puts nice things into their computers I guess...
Big floppys are fun. But is DVD-RAM readable by standard DVD drives?

Only some dvd drives can read dvd-ram. Thus it's not exactly a great data transportation tool.

The only burner I know that does DVD-RAM is one made by LG. Is there an LG in that TP?

Nope, it's a M a t s u s h i t a UJ-822 in T43. UJ-812 in T42.

Toshiba, Iomega, QPS also make dvd-ram writers.
