T42p vs. T43p Palm Rest

#1 Post by andyli » Tue Jun 14, 2005 10:41 am

I am ordering a new palm rest from IBM.

From the T42p Parts List, I was able to determine that the part that I wanted was 91P8398. However, IBM seems to be sending me 91P8734, which appears to be the part code for the T43p.

Can someone tell me if these are the same?
T42p, 2373-HVU, Pentium M 1.8GHz, 2GB RAM, 60GB 7200RPM, IBM a/b/g, Bluetooth, FireGL

X41, 2528-6NU, Pentium M LV 1.5GHz, 768MB RAM, 60GB 4200RPM, Intel a/b/g, Bluetooth, Intel GMA 900, UltraBase X4+CD/DVD

I can't really help with the part number question...but I do have a question for you...

How do you find the palm rest on the T42? I just got a new t43p and I find that the palm rests on both sides flex slightly each time I rest my hands to begin typing...also the left side flexes a little bit above the PCMCIA slot...

Does the T42P exhibit any of these symptoms?

Yes. Many threads were written about it. Search old posts.
