Reprogram figerprint for reader?

#1 Post by Greg Gebhardt » Wed Jun 15, 2005 2:54 pm

I did the finger print deal and all thru the weekend my reader worked on the first shot but now at the office it is taking many times to get it to recognise my finger.

Anyone else had to reprogram their reader? Am willing to bet that I am doing it at a different angle cause I was sitting in my Lazyboy and at the office I am sitting at my desk.

How hard to reprogram? :?:

Very easy to reprogram. Use the same program you used to program it initially.

Start->All Programs->Access IBM->IBM Fingerprint Software->Control Center

Fingerprint reader is very sensitive to angle of finger, but there could be other things as well. Greasy, dirty, or wet fingers could have an effect. (But you don't want to get those all over your Thinkpad anyway, so I'm sure you washed with soap and water, right? :D) I found that I initially programmed my index finger in at an awkward angle 'cause I did it lying in bed instead of sitting at a desk.
