Hi there,
I want to upgrade my T43 2669 BIOS, so flashed the latest Lenovo BIOS first. Success.
Then I tried to update the latest Lenovo Embedded Controller firmware. This did not work, not with Winflash, nor Phlash16.
This tool quits flashing the Non-Dikette EC with the message 'Specified BIOS ROM file is not for this system'.
Last thing I can try is the Diskette EC, which is a self-extracting image (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/de/de/oldd ... s/ds014006)
As I do not own a diskette drive no more, I have to emulate it.
WinImage, Virtual Floppy Drive and ImDisk I have tried, but the image file will not mount.
Can you tell me how to do that to get hold of the files the image contains?

Re: T43 Embedded Controller upgrade problem
Unless it's the same file, download this non-floppy version:
https://thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad- ... hj06us.exe
Run it from within Windows.
Or try to extract the files from the floppy-version using: https://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract
Other program to experiment with and make a bootable USB: Rufus

Thank you for your answer.
Do you know a software to emulate a diskette drive with? With this I could mount the Diskette-EC-firmware and copy its files.
And put them onto my bootable USB to flash the T43 EC.
I linked the file to be mounted in the first post, feel free to give mounting it a try.
Tried that, no success. Quits with an Eflash Error: 'DeviceIoControl() returns 24'RealBlackStuff wrote:Unless it's the same file, download this non-floppy version:

Tried that as well. File can not be extracted ('Filetype returned was: not a valid PE file')RealBlackStuff wrote:Or try to extract the files from the floppy-version using: https://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract
I created a bootable USB with Grub4DOS and Rufus. Both work well, but flashing still does not.RealBlackStuff wrote:Other program to experiment with and make a bootable USB: Rufus
