2378-FVU Noises...

#1 Post by mrxle3 » Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:46 am

Hi everyone. I just recently got a T42 2378-FVU, and I love it. However, just recently, I've noticed a zipper/clicking noise coming from the computer when I play games or even when I drag a browser window to change it's size/shape. Is this normal? The noise is not loud, but still noticeable.

Does it make the noise when running on battery?

that's just your video card, or rather the FETS inside the card switching currents to update your display, nothing to fret over.

Thanks for the info Freddy =). I noticed that the sound doesn't appear when the AC adapter is not plugged in. (Running on battery)

whizzing noise

#7 Post by migo2137 » Sun Jun 19, 2005 1:49 pm

Hi there!

I´ve been looking for these questions for a while now. My both thinkpads, T22 and the recent T40p did/do this whizz noise: a buzz, whirr of some king. It occurs when I resize windows, hover over links, etc. Also, the color depth has locked on 16 bit, althou it claims it´s on 32. I´ve seen threads about this problem before, but couldn´t find them now (searched of course).
Someone suggested this problem could be related to bad LCD cable or similar.

I think it's just electric feedback noises from the video card?
