How to control fan speed, and kick in temperature?

#1 Post by jhonyl » Mon Jun 20, 2005 10:44 am

Hi,

How can I control the fan speed, and the kick in temperature? So far I am not able to even monitor the fan RPMs speed, and I have tried several monitoring softwares including CHC.

jhonyl,

I don't know how to register my vote in your 'poll', but my fan does not come on 'too low'. In fact, i think it's not coming on low enough. I'm running CHC in an attempt to cool my computer down, as the fan does not seem to be doing the job (at least to my satisfaction). I've got it running in the high 30s-low 40s. I have a great utility for my Dell (details posted in the 'software temp control' sticky at the top of the T forum)--allows direct control of the fans on my Inspiron 8000. Something similar for the "T"s would be wonderful! For what it's worth,

Paul

I would really love to control the fan speed and when it kicks on as well...

It starts at such a low temperature and stays on, for NO REASON. Wireless just amplifies the issue.

You would think there has to be one of us on these boards that understands the T4xx's enough to create a simple program just for the fan issue
