Actually I never notice harddrive noise even on my 36.7GB Raptor, except for the distinctive "CLICK" of the harddrive heads going place to place

Besides, I just hear a "Voooooooooooooooooooooooooo" noise if I put my ear 1 inch next to the keyboard...

I just got my t43 this week and it has the overheating problem too. The ambient temperature is around 78F. The hard drive is 33C. The CPU is 55C at idle and 92C after 10 minutes 100% loading(I don't know how high it will go because I shut the prime95). The bottom of the laptop also gets too hot to touch, especially under the touchpad. The fan is alway on.

After installed the CHC and set the CPU voltage to 1.002V, the CPU temperature is about 65C at 100% loading. However, sometimes I'd like to use linux and I can not find a CHC similar software for linux.

Any idea? I got a defect t43?
