IBM Thinkpad AC-DC supply has an output of 15,6V according to the imprint. Most Laptops AC-DC converters deliver 19V. Does the T4x or more precise the T41 electronic can handle a 19V DC input? Does anybody accidentially plugged in 19V DC ?

Re: AC-DC supply voltage limit
It's actually 16V given what's written on the adapter itself.Mac-Chatter wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 3:45 pmIBM Thinkpad AC-DC supply has an output of 15,6V according to the imprint.
I wouldn't play with a 19V current on a pre-T6x ThinkPad. There are genuine AC/DC adapters out there in 72W format that will work wonders if one needs to travel with a T4x or most of other older ThinkPads in general. Most Laptops AC-DC converters deliver 19V. Re: AC-DC supply voltage limit
It can work with 19V adapter. But I highly recommend don't do that!
On my experience I had TP390E powered from 19V - no problems, but TP600 didn't survive - blown up charger detection circuit(battery charging gone, solved by resoldering burnt LM324 chip).
