T42 Status: "shipped". But tracking link doesn't

My order seems to have shipped, according to the Lenovo order status page, but the "track shipment" link doesn't contain a real tracking number.

This is the link on the order status page: http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracki ... Number1=1Z

As you can see, all it contains is 1Z. Should I expect this to be fixed tomorrow (Monday) morning, or is it just a sign of an incorrect status report from the sometimes-ambiguous Lenovo order tracking system?

no that happened to me as well; just wait a few more hours or morning and it will contain a real tracking number.

that means UPS has not picked it up, yet..

it might be that the tracking number won't work even AFTER they pick it up..
then BAM!, there it will be at your door.. :)

and sometimes you can track it inch by inch from HK to your doorway..

Your sales rep can give you the full number (if you can ever get through), before it is posted to the Lenovo Order Status website.

But as mentioned, it will repair itself usually within 24 hours (typically at ORIGIN SCAN, wherever that is).

Thanks for the replies. The number was added to the order status page this morning. Looks like it is being shipped from North Carolina (to NY). Here's to hoping that's good news...

edit: any idea on when the parts lookup will work with my serial number? Right now it just returns "Information for parts lookup was not found. Please click the browser back button and try again." when I submit the type and serial provided on the order status page.

I am not sure... I did not realize that I cound even do a parts lookup until I noticed the serial number underneath the thinkpad I bought. But it did work, so I am guessing in a few hours or so?

North Carolina? Neat! The Dock II & monitor stand shipped from NC as well. Maybe the "free" express shipping is killing them & NC is the new staging area for TP's.
