T42 and T43 Screens

#1 Post by andertrack » Mon Jun 27, 2005 10:03 pm

Is there a difference between the 14.1 inch SXGA screens on the T42 and the screens on the T43?

Is the overall quality of the 14.1 inch SXGA such that the 15 inch screen with "Flexview" is not needed?

Thanks for your input.

I dig the 14.1 inch screen, makes the whole machine smaller, lighter, and less battery hungry. However, the text is small which I actually prefer, but some of my friends who wear glasses think that its a bit straining on their eyes so unless you have decent vision it "may" be a problem. I just got my unit about a month ago, and it came with the Hydis panel which is apperently a newer panel and is nicer than the sanyo in my friends 2378 fvu when we compare them side by side, but there is no gurantee you will get this panel. Anyhow I would def go for the 14.1 inch again if I had to make the decison.

It took me a while to get used to the SXGA 14.1 screen but once I got used to it's been great.

Also I noticed that the T42P with the FIREGL has a birghter screen than the standard T43 that I am returning which consequently makes it easier on the eyes (well for mine at least). I have the two of them sitting next to each other now and I can see the difference...

Good Luck!

Compared to T42 14", the T43 14" is about 20% brighter (with Bios set to bright). But the contrast is still the same.
The T43 15" flexview is about 10% even brighter than the T43 14", and the contrast is much higher.
