T43 position of thinkpad screen and dark areas

#1 Post by alexy55 » Sun Sep 16, 2018 4:35 am

Hello

I use my thinkpad with external monitor so I leave the screen slightly open to use a internal keyboard. It's possible to get the some dark areas after leaving the screen in this position long time?

The internal keyboard, as in your T43's keyboard?

No, it is not possible to get dark areas on your screen or anything similar by leaving the screen angled/positioned as you said.

... however, the CCFL can and will burn out over time unless LCD is off.
Too many thinkpads not enough time!
(stable under reduction)

Woops, forgot about that, use the Fn+F3 combination to switch off the screen to make sure the backlight/CCFL strip doesn't burn out.
