Battery care and charge thresholds?

Hello,

I am currently using my T43 primarily as a desktop replacement. The power manager help suggests that if this is the case, I should lower my charge thresholds. I guess my only concern is that if I do so, I'll forget and then when I do take the machine on the road, I won't have a full charge.
What experiences have others had with this setting? Also, what about resetting the gauge? What effect does doing this actually have? Should I set it to recommend when a reset is necessary?

To do this:
1. Bring up power manager.
2. Go to the battery information page.
3. Press the battery maintenance button.

The threshold feature is not available in the T23. I think it is only available in the newer Thinkpads like the T4x series.

From what I read, T40 and T41 do not have it either.
