T43P Super Talent SSD Upgrade?

#1 Post by SabrinaBella » Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:39 am

I've seen these on ebay and it seems to be the perfect upgrade since I don't have the resources to mod my beloved thinkpad to accept sata drives. Anybody have any experience on the performance and quality? I find the performance to be solid on the T43 and can multitask flawlessly making it the perfect workhorse. I absolutely adore this thinkpad!

I find no name SSD to be crap. Slow and when they work the don't work for a long time. At least that's been my experience with 3 of them. Never again. A IDE to mSata converter enclosed in a HDD case worked great for me.

Welcome to the forum!

Please stay away from PATA SSDs, they are garbage, plain and simple. No one ever bothered to develop one that would actually offer a meaningful stability and performance improvement.

Unless you can find someone to SATA-mod your system, just stay with the current HDD.
