T43 - Thinkfan & MX Linux

Has anyone ever got MX Linux and Thinkfan playing nicely?

My T43 runs MX, and it's fantastic (2.13ghz 2gb RAM mSATA-ide hard drive) except the fan is on very fast all the time... Thinkfan is needed!

Since MX is debian based, I found and started to follow this guide

and all went well until I tried to start up coretemp and it said
root@Sam:/home/sam# sudo modprobe coretemp
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'coretemp': No such device

This is where my general lack of Linux knowledge comes into play! Has anyone ever had this before and fixed it?

did you install lm_sensors and run sensors_detect?
