Question for t42 owners

#1 Post by mrxle3 » Thu Jun 30, 2005 2:56 am

Hi. I just got my t42 back from the service depots...replaced my hard drive due to clicking noises and motherboard was replaced. I notice now that my fan is running nonstop...though it is very very soft and doesn't bother me at all. Before, my fan used to turn on only for a lil bit and then stop. Is continuous fan normal?

It depends on the cpu temperature. The fan on my T42 stops at 38/39'C mark. During summer time the fan runs almost all the time since it's 28'C+ out there.

My fan starts at 46 C and stops at 41 C.
I wish they would add 6 degrees to that, since it is usually at 44 C when idle, and it doesn't take much to get it to 46 C.
I suspect that this is set by the BIOS version, since I think that before I have upgraded the BIOS, the temps were 42 C, and 48 C.
