IBM T41 Display

#1 Post by mbguy » Sat Mar 30, 2019 3:27 pm

I have an IBM T41 that lights up to the logo screen when the power button is pushed. About 20-30 seconds after the picture goes out. The screen is not black because you can still see light but the picture goes away and it will not finish it's post. No beeping, just loss of picture. Not sure what the problem could be. The tube is good as there is light, and I've changed the inverter but have the same problem. Any help appreciated.

Is it able to go to BIOS settings (or press Esc and you can see the POST messages)?
I would say try disconnecting all devices (USB drives, HDD, Ultrabay device) and try fiddling with the CMOS battery, RAM and CPU and see if you can get anything.

A bad wifi-card is also known as a source of trouble.
Just in case, if you have a 14.1" T41, I have some spare lids with LCD for that.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (the Real Black Stuff). And pigs CAN fly!
